QUEBEC SELF-EMPLOYED PROGRAM
The Quebec Self-Employed Worker Program is a part of Quebec’s Business Immigration programs. It only allows individuals who come to Quebec with the intent of creating their own job by engaging in commercial activities.
As a self-employed person, you have the opportunity to immigrate to Quebec.
You will need to obtain a Certificate of Selection (CSQ) to be eligible for the Quebec Self-Employed Worker Program. A CSQ also authorizes you to apply for permanent residency in Quebec.
Program Eligibility
You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Quebec Self-Employed Worker Program:
- You must intend to create your own employment while residing in Quebec
- You must have minimum net assets of $100,000. This can also include the net assets of your spouse if they are accompanying
- You must have a minimum experience of 2 years as a self-employed person
- You must score the minimum required points on the Quebec self-employed worker assessment grid
Other factors, such as language proficiency, age, and training background will affect your application. Quebec allows only a limited amount of applicants under this program every year.
If you have cleared a French language proficiency test, then you will be exempt from this target limit.
